Our aerial programmes are for fun, fitness and
relaxation- using fabric hammocks to support the body.
We also have aerial acrobatic fabrics and a dance
trapeze for children to experiment and create with.
The kids aerial programme contains some stretching
and yoga postures in the hammock, as well as floorbased
stretches and movements using the hammock
as a prop. We also introduce the trapeze- focusing on
poise and balance. Mostly the kids create their own
moves, relax and enjoy the cocoon-like, supportive
quality of our hammocks. Each class ends with a
restful guided meditation while nestled in their
The hammock is a prop like a strap or block, intended
to assist alignment, deepen awareness and provide
the immediate benefit of spinal decompression while
practicing a modified form of yoga. With the weight of
the body partially or fully supported along with the
help of gravity, you can explore and create space in
your bodies as intended in traditional yoga practice.
Without the compression of the joints and spine you
can achieve proper posture and alignment through
relaxation rather than effort, therefore finding a more
balanced and unencumbered expression of each
pose. Give it a try! Your back will thank you.
Using the hammock as a prop, we can ramp up the
class to be tougher and faster- think planks, repetition
and sweat- this is a faster-paced, challenging version
of a normal aerial yoga class- not for beginners.
These classes are gentle, slow and close to the floorsimilar
to yin yoga, the emphasis is on holding longer,
deeper stretches and getting to that connective tissue.
There is no going upside down, but plenty of relaxing
in the hammock. Perfect for beginners
These open aerial sessions are for those who've
taken at least 1 course in aerial as they are undirected,
so participants can practice, experiment and
move through their chosen series of postures with a
teacher on hand for questions and guidance. They
will still finish with a guided meditation period.
